County of Niagara Ira E. Huie being duly sworn declares that about fifteen years ago he became acquainted with Wilson L. Starkey described in foregoing affidavit. That he continued said acquaintance until said Starkey left for the west which he thinks was in the year 1858. That said Starkey made it his house with said Mother much of the time and deponent learned from said Starkey that he furnished her necessary support including clothing Groceries, provisions and money and said Starkey was a credible person and his statements were collaborated by common undoubted repute in the vicinity. That for a considerable time, being about one year, he lived with William W. Reed, and for a part of the time worked for him. That for about six months deponent was a Partner with said Starkey in the purchase and sale of dry goods and Groceries, at Newfane Niagara County N.Y. which was the reason said Starkey went West. That during their Partnership said Starkey furnished said Mother her clothing from the store and deponent recollects at one time a Calico dress & trimmings worth from $2.00 to $2.50. Also another dress, a black dress, & as he believes an Alpaca dress worth five dollars Also a quantity of Factory cloth. And the articles were from the store & not those described in foregoing affidavit. That he also recollects said Starkey furnished said Mother some chairs worth three dollars and a table worth $3.50. That in seteeing a Quantity of bedding & c were owned by the firm and as deponent believes was given by said Starkey to said Mother but he was not present but learned it was to given & approved it in settlement and he believes their value were twelve dollars. That during said Partnership said Starkey furnished said Mother from the Store necessary goods & groceries for her support including Flour, Fish, Teas, Sugars, coffee butter eggs & provisions, and continuously for six months and deponent learned from said Starkey and from repute that said it was his habit and that he so intended to continue said Mothers support and that deponent is in no way related to said Mother or interested in any application for pension by her. Ira E. Huie Sworn to and subscribed before me this 12th day of February 1866 by Ira E. Huie a credible person to me known and I have no interest whatsoever in the aforesaid application for pension.
