Dillaplaine Ridgway
to Thomas S Ridgway (page 38) This Indenture made the twenty fourth day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred & ten Between Dillaplain Ridgway late of the city of Philadelphia, in the common wealth of Pennsilvania & now of Mountholly in the county of Burlington & state of New Jersey & Dorothea his wife of the one part And Thomas S Ridgway of the city of Philadelphia aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that the sd Dillaplain Ridgway & Dorothea his wife for & in consideration of three hundred & ninety nine dollars to them in hand paid by the sd Thomas S Ridgway at or immedietly before the ensealing & delivery of these presents the reciept whereof is hereby acknowldeged Have granted, bargained & sold & by these presents do grant bargain & sell, alien enfeoff, release, convey & confirm unto the sd Thomas S Ridgway & to his heirs & assigns All those three lots of land situate in Mountholly aforesaid adjoining each orther being part of the plantation late belonging to John Ridgway deceased & in the plot or map of the sd plantation are numbered 5: 6 & 7. which the sd Dillaplaine Ridgway purchased of Caleb Clothier by deed bearing date the second day of May AD 1809 and are bounded as follows viz. Beginning at a stake or stone on the east side of High street in Mountholly aforesaid corner to No 4 of the sd plantation conveyed to the sd Thomas S Ridgway & runs along sd street North twenty four degrees & fifteen minutes west two hundred & thirty four feet to a stone on the south west corner of Ridgway street, thence along sd Ridgway street North sixty five degrees & forth five minutes east, two hundred & fifty seven feet to a stone corner to lot No 14 conveyed to the sd Thomas S Ridgway, then along his line south twenty four degrees & fifteen minuts east two hundred & thirty four feet to a stone corner to Thomas S Ridgway, then along the line of his lot No 4 south sixty five degrees & forty five minutes west two hundred & fifty seven feet to the place of Beginning Containing one acre one rood & twenty perches of land Together with all & singular the buildings gardens fences, ways, waters, watercourses, improvements previledges, advantages, herditaments and appurtenances whatsoever to the sd above described lots of land belonging or in any wise appertaining or therewith all used, occupied and enjoyed or accepted, reputed, deemed, or taken as part, parcel or member thereof and also all the estate, right, title, interest, property, possesion claim and demand whatsoever of them the sd Dillaplain Ridgway & Dorothea his wife of in & to the same & reversions & remainders, unto with & profits hereof and every part & parcel therof To Have & to Hold the sd above described lots or parcels of land adjoining each other & bounded as aforesaid, hereby granted, conveyed & confirmed or (meant?) mentioned or intended so to be with all & singular the appurtunanes unto the sd Thomas S Ridgway his heirs & assigns to the only proper use benefit & behoof of the sd Thomas S Ridgway his his heirs and assigns for ever And the sd Dillaplaine Ridgway for himself |

his heirs executors and administrators doth covenant, promise, grant & agree to & with the sd Thomas S Ridgway his heirs and assigns in manner & form following that is to say that the sd Dillaplaine Ridgway hath not done permitted or suffered any act, matter or thing whatsovever whereby the title of the premises hereby granted can be in any wise impaired or defeated or whereby the said premises can be in any respect charged encumbered and the same in the quiet and peaceable possession of the said Thomas S Ridgway against himself the sd Dillaplain Ridgway and against all and every other persons and persons whatsoever claiming the same by from and under him, he the sd Dillaplain Ridgway shall & will warrant and for ever defend by these presents In witness whereof the sd Dillaplain Ridgway and Dorothea his wife have to these presents set their hands & seals the day & year first above written Sealed & delivered } in the presence of } Dillaplaine Ridgway {seal} Zad: Ropell I } Dorothea Ridgway {seal} Abraham Brown } Be it remembered that that on the twenty fifth day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred & ten personnally appeared before me the subsriber one of the (master?) in the court of Chancery in & for the state of N Jersey Dillaplain Ridgway & Dorothea his wife the grantors in the within deed named and acknowledged that they signed sealed and delivered the same as their act & deed for the uses and purposes therein mentioned & the sd Dorothy being by me examined separate and a part from her sd husband, acknowledged that she signed, sealed & delivered the same acted voluntary act & did freely without any fear thereto or compulsion from her sd husband Taken & acknowledged before me Abraham Brown M in Chy Recorded 2 September 1811 J W Hvaine ck |
