The Adj’t Gen’l repints Wilson L. Starkey enrolled and Mustered in May 24, 1861, and “Died while on Signal duty on Steamer Red Rover, July 27, 1862” Death. Certificate of Naval Surgeon shows death from Febris Congectiva Celibacy Left neither widow nor child, he had been married, but his wife of Soldier. died in March 1860. Relationship. Proved Death or disability Living, but physically unable to support his family of husband. Dependence. The witnesses state that the son, before going west furnished his mother with groceries, flour clothing &c. and afterwards remitted her money on several occasions having seen the letters, but only remembers distinctly one remittance of five dollars. Loyalty. Declared by Clt Agent and his James F. Baldwin, Lockport N.Y. P.O. address Admitted Jany 28, 1867, to a Pension of $8.00 per month, Commencing July 27, 1862. Jno D. Wilson, Examining Clerk.
