The Executors of
John Ridgway dec’d To Samuel Bennett (page 686) This Indenture made the thirteenth day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred & eleven Between Delaplaine Ridgway Thomas Ridgway and William H Burr executors of the last will & testament of John Ridgway late of the township of Northampton, in the county of Burlington and State of New Jersey, of the one part, and Samuel Bennett of Mountholly, in the same place aforesaid of the other part Whereas the aforesaid John Ridgway was at the time of his decease duly seized in fee simple of in and to a certain lot of ground and three separate dwelling houses situate on the west side of High street in Mountholly aforesaid by Virtue of a deed of conveyance from under the hand & seal of John Hollinshead Esquire High sherriff of the county of Burlington aforesaid dated the twenty ninth day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred & eighty seven recorded in the clerk’s office of the county aforesaid and the said John Ridgway signed thereof as aforesaid made his last will & testament which is duly proved and recorded in the Registers office and therein did order & direct his executors to sell & convey all his real estate as by reference to the same last will & testament will appear Now this indenture Witnesseth that the said Delaplaine Ridgway, Thomas S Ridgway & William H Burr in consideration of the sum of five hundred dollars to them in hand paid by the said Samuel Bennett the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged by the said Delaplaine Ridgway Thomas S Ridgway & William H Burr and themselves therewith fully satisfied & paid; Have granted, bargained, sold, conveyed & confirmed and by these presents do grant, bargain, sell, convey and confirm unto the said Samuel Bennett and to his heirs and assigns All the following |

described Brick dwelling house and lot of ground situate on the west side of High Street in Mountholly aforesaid and is part --- of the above -- described premises and is bounded as follows viz Beginning at the break of the brick partition wall that separates the house on the lot of ground from the house belonging to Dilaplaine Ridgway and runs along the sd partition wall westwardly and the same (???) continued to a stone corner to said Delaplain in Shield’s line thence along said line North fifty seven degrees East twenty feet to a corner, thence due north thirteen feet nine inches to the corner of Caleb Newbold’s ground now occupied by Samuel Reeve, thence along Caleb Newbolds line Eastwardly to his corner on the west side of High street, thence along the line of said street south wardly twenty three feet to the place of Beginning together with all and singular the brick dwelling house and every of the priviledges and appurtenances unto the same premises belonging and also all the estate right, title, interest & claim that the sd John Ridgway had in and to the same in his lifetime and at the time of his decease and of them the said executors since his decease, either at law or equity To have & to hold all the above described premises with the appurtenances unto the said Samuel Bennet his heirs and assigns to the only proper use, benefit & behoof of said Samuel Bennet his heirs and assigns for ever And the said Delaplaine Ridgway Thomas S Ridgway and William H Burr for themselves and for the heirs of the said John Ridgway, deceased, doth covenant to and with the said Samuel Bennet his heirs and assigns that they have not done or suffered to be done any act matter or thing to hurt, (burthea?) & incumber the estate hereby granted but that the same is granted and conveyed as full free & entire to the said Samuel Bennet and to his heirs and assigns, as it way vested in the said John Ridgway his heirs and assigns at and before the time of his decease In Witness whereof the said Dilaplaine Ridgway, ~~ Thomas S Ridgway and William H Burr have hereunto set their hands &seals the day and year first above written 1811 Sealed & delivered in the presence of } Delaplaine Ridgway {seal} by Thomas S Ridgway } Thos S Ridgway {seal} Abraham Brown & Eliza W Ridgway } Wm H Burr {seal} and Note the words “and that the above conveyed premises is part & parcel of the real estate of the said John Ridgway, “deceased”, were erased before signing Executed by Delaplaine Ridgway & William H Burr in the presence of Joseph Bennet & Abm Brown Be it remembered that on the 30th day of April AD 1811 personnally appeared before me the subscriber one of the Masters in the court of chancery of the state of New Jersey the within named Delaplaine Ridgway, Thomas S Ridgway and H Burr and severally acknowledged that they signed, sealed & delivered the within deed of conveyance for the uses & purposes therein expressed Abm Brown M in chy Recorded May 24 1813 Jno ?aine ck |
