This is the second deed in a series of three deeds between Edward Williams to John Sellers. The deeds concern a dam and were written at different times. but were all recorded at the same time in 1807
This Indenture Made Between Edward Williams of Blockley in the County of Philadelphia and State of Pennsylvania Weaver of the one part and John Sellers of Darby in the County of Chester and State aforesaid of the other part Wittnesseth that the said Edward Willliams for and in consideration of the sum of ten pounds to him in hand paid the receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge and thereof and every part and parcel thereof doth acquit and forever discharge the said John Sellers his Heirs Executors and Administrators hath and doth by these presents Grant bargain sell release and Confirm unto the said John Sellers his Heirs and Assigns A Priviledge (which the said John Sellers hath Receved in a certain deed of conveyance bearing and date herewith made by the said John Sellers to the said Edward Williams of and to the land in and through which the said Dam and water courses hereby granted Runs) Re erecting of Dam in and across a creek in the same place where the said Edward Williams some years past granted A Privilege or a dam & in the same place where the said John Sellers hath had a Dam many years past for the use of his grist or Corn Mill and likewise a privilege of Reopening the same grist of corn Mill race Running through the said land now of the said Edward Williams and from time to time as acasion may require of Releaning the same for the use of the said Grist or Corn Mill aforesaid To have and to hold the above said privileges with their appertainances unto the said John Sellers his Heirs and assigns To the only proper use and Behoof of the said John Sellers his Heirs and assigns forever In witness whereof the said parties have to these presents set there hands the Thirtieth day of March One thousand seven hundred and Eighty five 1785
Sealed & Delivered in the presence of us } Edwd Williams {seal} John Thomas Junior Robert Steel } Before me Robert Wharton Mayor of the City of Philadelphia personaly appeared Robert Steel one of the Subscribing witnesses to the above Indenture and on his Solemn affirmation according to Law did declare and say that he was personaly present and did see Edward Williams the grantor in the said Indenture sign Seal Execute and Deliver the said Indenture as his act and deed and that thereupon he this Deponent Subscribed his name as a Witness thereto Witness my hand and Seal this second day of February One Thousand Eight hundred and seven Robert Steel Robert Wharton Mayor {seal} Recorded this 3rd day of February 1807 |
